Pay your people from the same system that keeps your books. Every pay run posts its own journal, charges labour to the right job, and leaves wages, tax and super owing in accounts that reconcile.
Pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Matrix drafts the run from each employee's pay, timesheets and approved leave; you check it and finalise, and the journal posts in the same step. Payslips go by email as PDFs, and the bank file pays everybody at once.
Annual, personal and long service leave accrue on the hours actually paid. Staff ask for leave, you approve it, and the next pay run pays it — with leave loading on its own line.
Build next week's roster, publish it, and turn it into timesheets. Approved hours pay the people paid by the hour, and every hour on a job is charged to that job's costs automatically.
Matrix loads modern award rates and penalties straight from the Fair Work Commission's pay database. Place an employee on their award and classification, and Matrix warns you before you pay them less than the minimum for that day.
Every pay run works out super guarantee and salary sacrifice, and Matrix tracks each contribution against its Payday Super due date — so you see what is owed, what is late and what has been sent before it becomes a problem.
When somebody leaves, Matrix works out their final pay — the days since they were last paid and their unused leave, with its loading. Payroll reports and your BAS read the same figures as the ledger.
Invite employees to Matrix with access to their own pay alone — or give them a sign-in yourself, with a temporary password they change the first time. They see their payslips, leave balances and published shifts, and ask for leave themselves — and see nothing of the books.
No. Matrix does not report pay to the ATO through Single Touch Payroll. Australian employers must report each pay run through STP, so you will need an STP-enabled service alongside Matrix.
Matrix calculates withholding with the ATO's formula once the tax tables for the year have been entered and checked. Until then you enter the tax withheld on each payslip, and the payslip says why.
